Voice Classes - Description

 

BEGINNING VOCAL TECHNIQUE (16-20 students)

5th & 6th grade students

This is an interactive, "hands-on" class where students will gain the tools to approach singing with confidence.  Specifically, they will learn include:

  • Proper breathing technique for foundational vocal production
  • Vocal diction and dynamics and their use in different musical styles
  • Practice routine/health issues
  • Introduction to vocal exercises

 

BEGINNING VOCAL TECHNIQUE (16-20 students)

7th & 8th grade students

BEGINNING PERFORMANCE CLASS (Minimum of 8 students, max. of 12)

6th, 7th & 8th grade students

This class is a vocal performance, master class setting.  Students will come prepared to sing a song each week, in a safe and encouraging performance environment and receive coaching and input from the instructor and other classmates.  Emphasis is given to stage presence/communication, vocal style and the application of vocal technique in performance.  Private vocal instruction and/or participation in Beginning Vocal Technique class is a pre-requisite.  (Special Note:  All songs must be accompanied by CD recorded accompaniment tracks).

 

INTERMEDIATE PERFORMANCE CLASS (Minimum of 8 students, max. of 12)

High School only
