BALLET

Ballet is a form of dance in which technique, control, strength and body placement is combined with flowing movement. Ballet is often referred to as the backbone of dance. The fundamentals used in ballet are often used throughout all other styles of dance as well.

JAZZ

Jazz is a form of dance that showcases a dancers individual style, involving body isolation, flexibility and coordination.This type of dance is very fun and energetic. It is typically paired with upbeat music such as hip-hop or show tunes to add a theatrical flare. These dances usually have quick footsteps, lots of leaps and turns and unique moves.

LYRICAL

Lyrical is a form of dance which fuses jazz and ballet together, as well as emotional expression. Movements are characterized by fluidity and grace, with the dancer flowing seamlessly from one move to another, holding finishing steps as long as possible. Leaps are exceptionally high and soaring, and turns are fluid and continuous.

CONTEMPORARY

This style of dance incorporates lyrical, modern, ballet and jazz. Contemporary dance is all about connecting the mind and the body through dance movements. It is typically done barefoot and there is a heavy emphasis on strong controlled legwork. This style often allows the dancer creative freedom, and can be danced to a variety of different music.

HIP HOP

Hip-hop is a style of dance that evolved from hip-hop culture and is typically danced to of course, hip hop music. This style of dance is probably the most different from the other forms. It is generally very energetic and allows the dancer to have freedom of movement within the routine and incorporate their personalities.

ACRO

Acro is a form of dance which combines classical dance with acrobatics. Your dancer will learn both dance and acrobatic skills.  

Acro class progresses from forward rolls and cartwheels to advanced tumbling, including aerial work. Teachers work with each student on their individual level. This class also focuses on flexibility, agility, and teamwork.

TAP

Instruction will focus on tap fundamentals including basic tap steps, wings, cramp rolls, and pull backs while enhancing rhythm  and motor skills. As the students advance they will be given more advanced steps to match their skill levels.

POINTE

Instruction focuses on proper technique for pointe work with an emphasis on injury prevention. Students first strengthen their bodies with barre work and then later move to center work when they are strong in both body and technique.

POMS

A movement based class that focuses on sharp arm movements, execution of choreographic visuals and dance team/cheer skills. Dancers will learn fundamentals of Pom positions, performance skills and pushes dancers to expand on their high energy, entertainment skills. 

LEAPS AND TURNS

This is a technique class designed to assist students in focusing on the leaps, jumps and turns that dancers perform in Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. This specialized class is a way to better your technique when executing basicleaps, center leaps, turns, and fouetté.
